Hop-In is a place you might not just hop into but after experiencing the food you may as well as be Jumpin’ in joy! Kalyani Nagar already has a lot of good places for Food and Drinks, Hop-In just about upped the ante. They were earlier located in Viman Nagar and moved to Kalyani Nagar recently.
Hop-In has an outside seating as well as enough seating space inside the restaurant with nicely done interiors and giving a more cafe kind of feel. They also have their bar operational now which was not the case when we there for our food tasting.
The Food Prowl Team was invited for a food tasting and it was a trip worthwhile.
We were served a host of dishes, to start with, the highlight of the day was surprisingly a vegetarian dish – Dhokla Pakoda. The golden fried Pakodas are cut in the middle and stuffed with Dhokla and topped with Thecha. This is a very addictive dish and a must have even for the carnivorous community.
Chicken Banjara Kebab had succulent pieces and tasted good so did the Tandoori Lollipop.
Jalapeno Poppers are excellent here, yet another winner.
Coastal Fry Chicken, Corn Cheese Potato Dumpling and Fish Fingers were appeasing.
Hop in Fries were sprinkled with Peri Peri that made them quite amazing in taste and another dish that can be good accompaniments to the cocktails.
Chilli Garlic Paneer was very well done, the paneer is very soft and melts away in the mouth. Vegetarians should be happy ordering this.
Black Pepper Prawns were not a part of the original tasting menu, we requested for it to be served as we wanted to try it out. The dish was not as good as the others served, some of the Prawns were cold at the bottom. Probably the dish was prepared in a hurry and it could be done much better. Hop in Egg Surprise was also okay.
American Barbeque Pizza, Arabic Spicey Pizza and Cheese Garlic Olive Pizza were the three Pizzas served each one was better than the other.
We were served two dishes for the main course – Upside Down Bowl and Khow Suey. Upside Down Bowl was excellent. Rice, Chicken and an Egg Half Fry on top, one of the dishes that looked the best on presentation and this can easily be a replacement for those who are tired from having Biryani everywhere. Khow Suey was nice.
Kheema Pao was also a dish we tried and it was prepared well.
Quite an array of Mocktails were also served – Pilsner, Island blue, Lycheelada, Man land, Win land, Black Sour, Berrier, Trippic and Peninsula. All of them were reasonably good.
If you are looking for a place to let your hair down over some good food and drinks all you must do is Hop-In here!
Special Thanks to Karma PR for inviting us.
