Dimsums Festival & Evo Grill Launch – J.W. Marriott, Pune
DIMSUMS FESTIVAL & EVO GRILL
Steamy Oriental Affair at Spice Kitchen Dimsums Festival (18th Feb 2016 – 29th Feb 2016)
&
Live Evo Grill at Shakahar, J.W. Marriott
J.W. Marriott for long has been a reliable destination when it comes to Fine Dine experience in Pune. Pune Baking Company, Alto Vino, Spice Kitchen, Paasha, Shakahari, Bar 101 and Mi-a-Mi have all been popular destinations for Food Connoisseurs and Party Goers alike.
We were invited for a special media preview of the Dimsums Festival held at Spice Kitchen from 18th February 2016- 29th February 2016 offering 10 different varieties of Dimsums as a part of the festival menu including Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian options.
Dimsum Menu:
Vegetarian
- Chinese Chive Dumpling
- Shitake Mushroom Dumpling
- Vegetable Coriander Bao
- Vegetable Spring Roll
- Vegetable Shanghai
Non Vegetarian
- Prawns Hargan
- Chicken Shumai
- Lamb Bao
- Chicken Sesame Sphere
- Chicken Shanghai
Jasmine and Green Tea are also being served along with the Dimsums. The Chinese Tea Cocktail – a concoction of Green Tea with Gin was an exhilarating experience.
In addition to the Dimsums some regular food items from the Spice Kitchen Buffet Menu were also served.
Veg. Puff and Chicken Puff: Both Puffs had flaky layers adorned with Toasted Sesame and with a sweet and spicy filling.
Veg. Spring Roll: The regular Spring Rolls with a difference of deft professional expertise. With minimum oil and mildly flavored they went well with the accompanying dips.
Chicken Sesame Sphere: These looked very deceptive and yes they were, looked like firm ones that would have crunchy outer layer and meat on the inside. Instead these had a sweet and chewy exterior with very hot stuffing.
Prawn Hargow: A paper thin layer of dough enclosed with juicy prawns.
Chicken Shumai: Regular Chicken Cantonese style dumplings that are best paired with spicy Schezwan sauce.
Lamb Bao: Perfect Bao on the sweetness level and had a nice filling of minced lamb.
Shitake Mushroom Dumpling: Mushroom stuffed in a very fine layer of Dimsum dough, highly recommended for mushroom lovers.
Chinese Chive Dumpling: They had a very light and refreshing taste
Overall, the Dimsums Festival should be a MUST for every Dimsums lover and J.W. Marriott should probably have Dimsums added to their regular menu at Spice Kitchen as well.
Evo Grill @ Shakahari
The Evo Grills are the latest addition the already huge spread of the Buffet at Shakahari.
Evo Grill Menu:
- Paav bhaji
- Kushi Katsu
- Pan Fried Noodles
- Garlic Fried Rice
- Beetroot Tikki
- Aloo Tikki
- Cauliflower Pancake
- Vegetable Su Mai
- Lal Mirch Ka Paneer
There are 3 Evo Grills serving the sumptuous appetizers and Vegetarians can definitely rejoice as the dishes served are lip smacking additions to the menu. One more big reason to keep going back to J.W. Marriott often.
