Villa Misha – A Peaceful and Comfortable Place to Hang Out.
Villa Misha is a welcome change to the fine dine and party focused places in Koregaon park. The Food Prowl Team was invited for an Exclusive Food Tasting.A very well thought and conceptualized place that reflects various elements of Europe in its décor and a casual approach to gourmet food experienced by the owners, husband-wife duo – Mihir Sadarangani & Shanaya Sadarangani, during their travels. Al fresco seating has 2 sections one in the verandah with tables for 2 for that intimate conversation and the patio that has a katta like setup for those long gossip sessions. Inside they have 2 halls with big windows and minimal yet vibrant décor, very soothing to the eyes. The setting is just perfect for spending a lazy Sunday afternoon, or a animated laid back conversation with tasteful lighting. The menu includes a mix of comfort and gourmet foods from around the world, including a detailed drinks menu and an envious desserts section. They also have a changing menu on the black board of the specials as per the seasonal produce. They also have plans to introduce wine and beer very soon that will pair very well the food they are serving. We tried a number of dishes and mocktails, starting with Watermelon and Beetroot Shot that had the glass rimmed with fresh herbs adding nice complexity to the drink. For appetizers we had Cheesy Nachos served with 2 dips – salsa and another cheese based.
A refreshing Special Salad that had watermelon and apple with feta cheese and greens. Lamb Chops were very nicely flavored and perfectly spiced preparation that was unanimously liked by all. We nibbled all the meat off the bones and licking our fingers afterwards. Prawn cocktail was also a simplistic preparation with a fine dip to dunk the prawns and enjoy. In the Maincourse we were served Peri Peri Butter Fish, a tender fish fillet pan fried in peri peri sauce served with a creamy potato mash, the combination of spicy and creamy elements just blended together delightfully. The Red Thai Curry that was rich with Asian flavor and served with burnt garlic rice (noodles can also be taken as an option).
Our Vegetarian team member opted for a Cottage Cheese Panini, a crunchy flatbread engulfed layers of paneer, veggies in chutney and sauces, an upbeat option to have. We saved some good space in our tummies for desserts and we were very interested in trying the drool inducing options. And we were glad by looking and tasting all the desserts we had – Chocolate Fondant, Saffron Crème Brulee, Baked Cheesecake with Berry Compote.
All 3 desserts were just perfect and I could have had them in back to back meals. The Chocolate Fondant instead of usual of being served with vanilla ice cream was served with a fruity cream in melted ice cream, it hand a citrus hint from fresh orange, just sinful and mesmerizing.
The Baked Cheesecake also was ideal in terms of texture and flavor. Desserts definitely were high point of our meal. This place is recommended for a casual meal or even just desserts in Koregaon Park, when you are not in mood of formal dining. They will be introducing new menu items and concepts in coming months so do watch out as this one is going to be a happening place.
